Jonathan Christie reveal the pluses and minuses of the venue change Indonesia Open from Istora to the Indoor Multifunction Stadium (IMS) venue. One of them is about the support of more and more badminton lovers.

The large IMS capacity factor is the main reason for the plan to relocate this venue. If Istora can only accommodate 6,000 spectators, then IMS will have around 16,088 seats.
That way, the great interest of badminton lovers (BL) will be accommodated when the Indonesia Open is held at IMS.
“Actually, I just heard the news at the press conference here. Yes, I think that next year we have to move, there will be good and bad,” said Jonathan in his press conference.
“The bad thing is, Istora has become a real icon for world badminton events. If you play in Indonesia, you will definitely play at Istora,” he said.
“Besides that, we have also been playing at Istora for decades. Indeed, we did play at the JCC in 2017, but the aura is very different, the atmosphere feels different. So I don’t know if next year (Indonesia Open) will move to the Indonesia Arena. what it’s like,” Jonathan explained.

Jonathan has so far never lost to Popov, who is the French men’s singles.
