Lebanese Debate: Democratic Gathering Bloc Divides Votes Between Azour and Franjieh

The “Lebanese Debate” learned that the “Democratic Gathering” bloc divided its votes between Jihad Azour and Suleiman Franjieh, which brought about this surprising result.

The surprise was represented by the fact that the head of the Marada Movement, Suleiman Franjieh, got 51 votes, while the former minister, Jihad Azour, got 59 votes.

Later, the Secretary of the Democratic Gathering bloc, Representative Hadi Abu al-Hasan, confirmed that “the Democratic Gathering was very clear in its position, which it returned and expressed after its last meeting, and all the representatives of the Gathering are on one position, one decision, and one vote, and they translated that by all voting for the candidate Jihad.” Azour, according to the principles contained in the statement of the meeting.

He added, “No vote distribution took place, as some tried to mislead the public opinion, and let some stop the ambiguous and suspicious roles aimed at creating needless problems.”
