Gödi SE’s women’s handball team won the championship in the NB II Northern Group with a two-point lead. The excellence of the Göd championship team, Bettina Szenes, won the title of queen of goals, who rattled the opponents’ net 185 times in the 22 league matches.

The champion of the NB II Northern Group left the field victorious in 20 of the 22 matches, only two defeats “slipped in”, the opponents could only respond with 665 hits to the 815 goals scored. The Esztergom Vitézek RAFC finished two points behind the Gödi team, which collected 40 points, and the third place on the podium was the team of the neighboring town, Szentendre NKE, with 34 points.

Anett Kaltenecker took third place in the competition for home goalscorer of the Gödi team, who delighted their enthusiastic fans with 106 goals.

The championship gold medal was presented to the happy members of the champion team in the Vác sports hall on May 27 during the break of the Praktiker Vác-Érd NB I championship match. The new mayor of Göd, the three-time Olympic champion Zoltán Kammerer, was present at the award ceremony, who congratulated the team’s players and managers on their well-deserved sporting success.

András Németh, the former captain of the Hungarian women’s national team, the father of handball in Vác and Göd, was also present at the award ceremony, who personally congratulated the members of the Göd team.
