Nothing Phone 2 to be Released in July: Better Equipment, Higher Price

• The 2nd generation Nothing Phone will be unveiled on July 11 at 5:00 p.m. our time
• The manufacturer confirmed it on social networks and attached a funny graphic with an octopus
• In terms of specifications, it should be a more equipped and therefore more expensive device

Nothing has officially confirmed the date and time of its launch event where it will launch the new smartphone Nothing Phone (2). There has been speculation about this phone since last year when the first Nothing Phone was introduced. The novelty will arrive in the summer, as expected, specifically in the middle of July.

Britain’s Nothing announced this spectacular news on their official Twitter profile and also on their website. “Come to the Light Side,” beckons the slogan in the invitation, which talks about the date of July 11, the performance will specifically take place at 17:00 our time.

The visuals on the invitation are no longer decorated with ladybugs, praying mantises, or other bugs. The invitation now features a silhouette of an octopus. Carl Pei’s marketing team thus remains in the realm of invertebrates.

Better equipment, higher price

As previously reported, there has been speculation about the 2nd generation Nothing Phone ever since the first one was introduced in July 2022; it happened almost exactly a year ago. The novelty should offer slightly better equipment, which it will aim at a more demanding clientele.

It should receive a 6.55″ AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and an integrated fingerprint reader. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset is also rumored with 8 or 12 GB of RAM, 128 or 256 GB of storage and a 4,700 to 5,000 mAh battery.

The glass back of the phone should once again offer a duo of cameras: a 50 Mpx main one with OIS and a wide-angle one with an unspecified resolution. A design that will honor the transparent appearance of the first generation is also important. There were even leaks of the design, but Carl Pei responded to these rumors by eloquently calling it a forgery.

Naturally, the higher equipment requirements also come with a higher starting price. The sum of 15-18 thousand crowns including VAT is most often used. However, we will know the official price of the Nothing Phone (2) only after the presentation.
