Police English is facing a ‘major incident’ in the region Nottinghamwhich triggers closure of at least six roads local. The major incident, whose cause is unknown, also forced the suspension of the operation of all tram network services in the city.
As reported Sky News, Tuesday (13/6/2023), Nottinghamshire Police said in a statement that police and other emergency services officers in several different locations were dealing with a “serious incident in progress”. Not explained further about the serious incident in question.
The Nottingham Express Transit (NET) tram network, in a separate statement, announced the suspension of all services due to “major police incidents around the city and suburbs”.
Local emergency services officers were also deployed to a number of areas, including the Maid Marian Way intersection in the Upper Parliament Street area.
Other road sections closed include Ilkeston Road, Milton Street, Maples Street and Woodborough Road, from the junction with Magdala Road to the city of Nottingham.
The National Inter-Agency Liaison Officer, who is coordinating the response from the police, ambulance and fire services, was also reportedly deployed to the scene.
“There have been multiple road closures across the city while the incident is being investigated,” Nottinghamshire Police said in a statement, without giving further details about the incident.
“We ask the public and motorists to avoid the following areas and plan alternative routes,” the statement added.
