Dr Karan Rajan, a surgeon and lecturer at the University of Sunderland, warns against couples sleeping in the same bed.

Rajan said that couples who want to get a good night’s sleep should lie in bed alone, so that their quality of sleep, which is harmful to their health in general, is not affected, according to the “Mirror” website.

Dr Rajan added, in a video shared to his 4.8 million followers on TikTok, that if your partner snores or moves around a lot while sleeping, this is likely to prevent you from entering REM sleep, which is the deepest stage of a person’s sleep. .

Getting a deep, good night’s sleep is crucial to a person’s health, Rajan said, and can take a serious physical and psychological toll during waking hours.

Not everyone has the same kind of sleep cycle and sleep efficiency, Rajan explained, meaning one partner ends up chronically sleep deprived, while the other is completely rested.

According to the surgeon, body temperature is also an issue, as sleeping in the same bed with another person naturally raises body temperature, which in turn can lead to insufficient sleep.

Karan pointed out that low core body temperature is one of the important factors that contribute to a good and deep sleep, while sharing a bed with someone leads to an increase in body temperature, so it takes a person longer to sleep.
