The anticipated sci-fi RPG Starfield saw the release of a new trailer and gameplay materials at the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct events. Not long after the aforementioned conferences ended, it was revealed that the game on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles it will only run at 30 FPS.
In an interview for IGN magazine this was revealed by the head of Bethesda Todd Howard himself, who defends the lock at 30 frames per second striving for consistency and a stable framerate. It is therefore obvious that although the game would be able to run at 60 FPS in some passages, drops would probably occur in more demanding moments, which the developers understandably wanted to avoid.
Howard also revealed that the title on the Xbox Series X console will run in 4K resolution. Xbox Series S owners, on the other hand, will have to settle for 1440p resolution. Starfield is released on September 6 for PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
