Ukraine should give up Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, which will allow dialogue to begin, said Sergey Tsekov
In order to start peace talks for Ukraine, Kiev must be ready to give up three more oblasts – Mykolaiv, Odesa and Kharkiv. This was said by Sergey Tsekov, a member of the Committee on International Affairs of the Council of the Federation of Russia, a senator from the Republic of Crimea.
Tsekov emphasized that the integration of three more regions of Ukraine into Russia could become the basis for starting a dialogue.
“This can be a starting point for peace talks,” Tsekov said, stressing that demilitarization, de-Nazification and ensuring Ukraine’s neutral status remain priorities.
However, Tsekov expressed doubts about Kiev’s willingness to accept the loss of territories and conduct peace talks with Russia.
At the same time, today, June 11, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov stated that “at the moment there is not even a fragile basis for dialogue with Ukraine”.
“Kiev is not ready to sit down at the negotiating table with Moscow, and the Ukrainian authorities are not in contact with the Kremlin at all,” Peskov said in an interview with Russian television.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly said that he does not plan to negotiate with Moscow. According to Kiev, talks are possible only in the context of Russian capitulation.
