How will you sleep in Sweden this year? Ahead of the summer season, the country offers six new unique accommodations. Check them out here.
Accommodation is literally a dream industry – and there is a constant worldwide battle to come up with the most incredible, surprising and spectacular beds to offer tourists for short or long stays.
It’s been a long time since spas were the new, hot thing – now you have to dangle, hang, swing or be completely isolated without contact with other people. Or something completely different. Unless you sleep in your own tent in nature under the guise of public access, it costs more and more to get a good night’s sleep away from home.
In Sweden, too, accommodation with a little extra is something that seems to have remained steadily popular in recent years. New places that are a little out of the ordinary are constantly appearing in the neighboring country.
These are some of this year’s news, collected by Experience Sweden:
Pater Noster: The Lighthouse in the Gap of the Sea
For 150 years, the Pater Noster lighthouse guided boats safely to the coast of Bohuslän. Now the houses on the island have become a unique design hotel, where you can sleep well under the lighthouse.
After painstaking renovation, the old lighthouse keeper’s residence has become a hotel and the Pater Noster is so special that it even won several international awards.
The Telegraph named the place one of the “10 most spectacular hotels of the decade” and they won the “Great Tourism Award” in 2022.
Pater Noster has 9 rooms with a beautiful view of the sea and a total of 24 guests.
Just over the border are the Yggdrasil Igloo Water Huts.

The cabins are located by the beautiful lake Västra Silen, which is part of the well-known canal system Dalsland’s canal. In the area there are many fine beaches, untouched nature and good fishing opportunities.

Only a stone’s throw from the houses is the beach restaurant Söderpiren, which has a sauna and steam room.

In the summer of 2023, the new “sea park” will be inaugurated, where you can spend the night in rooms with a pool, bathing jetty, outdoor shower, jetty and own sauna.
