Ubisoft Massive has officially announced its Star Wars game. Outlaws will be an open world game set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The game will be released next year.
Ubisoft Massive showed the first trailer of Star Wars Outlaws on Sunday night during the Xbox Games Showcase. The game follows the villain Kay Vess, who must pull off “one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen” along with her companion Nix. The player has to take on risky missions of crime organizations in the game. Kay wants to save enough resources to start a new life along the way, writes Ubisoft in a press release.
Star Wars Outlaws will be released in 2024. Although the title was shown during the Xbox Showcase, the game will also be released on platforms. The game will be released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. The studio promises to share more details about the game on Monday, June 12. This will happen during the Ubisoft Forward presentation, which starts at 7 p.m. Dutch time.
Ubisoft Massive, the studio behind The Division, announced in 2021 that it is working on an open world game in the Star Wars universe. To date, the game was known as ‘Star Wars Project’. The game also didn’t have a release year yet.
