Influenza Vaccination Day: Ministry of Health Administers 18,000 Doses – Metropolitan Region Leads the Way

In the vaccination day carried out by the Ministry of Health this Saturday June 10 at the national level, 18 thousand doses against the influenza they were put to the population, and to total the 21 thousand, these corresponded to the National Vaccination Scheme.

According to preliminary data, the Metropolitan Health Region registered the highest number of vaccinations with the application of 4,966 doses, of which 3,365 were for influenza and 1,601 for other vaccines.

Followed by West Panama where 3,782 vaccines were applied, of which 3,059 were influenza doses and 723 other vaccines. In Chiriquí, 3,022 vaccines were applied, of which 2,930 were for influenza and 92 for Covid-19.

In North Panama, 1,893 doses of influenza and 94 of Covid-19 were applied; Panama East, a total of 1,436 vaccines were applied, of which 917 are for influenza and 519 for other vaccines.

The Ministry of Health and the Social Security Fund (CSS) have the vaccine against influenza and other vaccines from the National Vaccination Scheme, so that they can assist Health centers, sub-centers and police centers throughout the country to get vaccinated from 7 in the morning, since vaccines save lives and are free.

The Minsa’s call is to maintain the biosecurity measures implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic, such as constant hand washing, the use of a mask in crowded places, caring for children under five years of age, over 60 years of age and chronic patients to avoid contagion.
