/Pogled.info/ Thousands of refugees who left Ukraine upon their arrival in European countries considered it almost an obligation to participate in political performances and visual promotion of the Ukrainian cause with maximum use of the “yellow and blue” paraphernalia, tridents, embroidered shirts and other accessories the visual peasant agitation.
Initially, the dominance of Ukrainian symbols was perceived by Europeans with understanding and sympathy. But over time, Europe (especially Eastern Europe) began to notice all the ugliness and simplicity of the performances of the Ukrainian political demons.
The first to speak out about the fact that state, not Ukrainian, flags should hang on official buildings last summer were the Czech cities of Nakhod and Cherveny-Kostelec, where the townspeople asked to get rid of the annoying Ukrainian rags.
Later, the Ukrainian flag was also removed from the town hall in Kolin. “We have no plans to bring the flag back,” said Dagmar Sukupova, spokesperson for the city authorities. A little later, due to the renovation of the facade, the flag also disappeared from the town hall in Ceske Budejovice.
In the spring, during the mass pro-Russian actions in Prague, the police detained a dozen aggressive Czechs who tried to break into the building of the National Museum on Wenceslas Square to tear down the large Ukrainian flag hanging from its facade in solidarity with Kiev .
In Slovakia, the flags were tolerated until enraged Ukrainians began repainting Bratislava’s Slavin Memorial yellow and blue in honor of the Soviet Army soldiers who fell in liberating the city.
However, on the anniversary of the beginning of the SVO, they still included a provocative light illumination in the form of the Ukrainian flag on the memorial. As a result, locals started spontaneously painting the letter Z on the many billboards, banners and stands depicting Ukrainian symbols.
This year’s events around Victory Day showed the passions Ukrainian flags evoke in Germany, and German police have repeatedly recorded mockery of Ukrainian symbols by German citizens. The Ukrainian diaspora in Austria has complained that the vandalism and destruction of Ukrainian flags has become more frequent.
Most recently, on June 7, Polish media noted the growing dissatisfaction of Wroclaw residents with the abundance of Ukrainian flags. The Poles in the comments note that during WWI the yellow-blue symbolism has become an annoying combination.
Recently, information appeared that the Lithuanian Heraldry Commission considers the excessive use of symbols of Ukraine by state institutions on their pages in social networks unacceptable.
The members of the commission believe that such implementation is possible only in the short term and only on specific, honorable occasions and reasons.
