UNM Threatens to Dismiss Those Involved in Drug Bunker on Campus

One of the student secretariats on the Makassar State University campus (UNM), South Sulawesi, with a police line, because it is the location of the bunker drugs that the police found.

UNM Chancellor Prof. Husain Syam admitted that he had never received any reports of drug storage within the state campus in Makassar. Even so, he promised to provide sanctions for dismissal or dismissal for the UNM members who were involved.

“As far as I know, there has never been a report of drug storage on the UNM campus and if there was, my question is who is indicated for storing drugs on campus,” Husain told CNNIndonesia.comSaturday (10/6).

Husain emphasized that he would give strict sanctions to unscrupulous students and employees and lecturers if they were involved in drug trafficking on the UNM campus.

“If narcotics are found on the UNM campus and the person who did it is found, then I strongly condemn the person who did it and I will also strictly apply strict sanctions in the form of dismissal to the person concerned and ask APH officers to carry out the process strictly without discrimination,” he said. said Husayn.

Husain emphasized that drug trafficking in the world of education is intolerable, so that strict sanctions must be given to those involved in the distribution network of illegal goods.

“This must be done to ensure that there is no tolerance for unscrupulous storage and distribution and consumption or the like for anyone from UNM academics,” said Husain.

Husain also asked the police to continue to reveal if they found a drug distribution network on the UNM campus. Thus, he continued, UNM campus residents who were involved could be given strict sanctions by his party.

“If any evidence is found, then it shouldn’t stop there. It still has to be disclosed who the perpetrators are. If items are found, then there are no perpetrators. So it can be considered speculation that someone brought them into the campus and then someone found them but did not find the perpetrators. ” he said.

Husain explained that the alleged drug storage area on campus could damage the good name and image of the UNM campus. Therefore, he supports and encourages the police to reveal the persons involved.

“If only the police uncovered the perpetrators and if they were UNM members, then we would take firm action imposing sanctions in the form of dismissal. Then ask APH to process according to the rules that apply indiscriminately,” he said.
