14 Dead in Devastating Forest Fires in Kazakhstan, as 60,000 Hectares of Wildfires Ravage Country

At least fourteen bodies have been found after the large forest fires in northeastern Kazakhstan. Rescuers sought overseers of the forest trapped by the fire.

316 people were safely rescued from the blaze. In the meantime, the situation is under control. The danger of forest fires has not yet passed due to the high temperatures and strong winds.

In Kazakhstan, 60,000 hectares of forest have burned down, an area about three times the size of the municipality of Amsterdam. Compared to the forest fires in Canada, this is a relatively small area. 4.4 million hectares have already been destroyed there this year, or two hundred times Amsterdam.
