WhatsApp today announced the new WhatsApp channels. It’s a simple, reliable, and secure way to get important updates from individuals and businesses, right within WhatsApp. Channels appear in a new tab called What’s New – with status and the channels you’re following – separate from chats with family, friends, and communities.
WhatApp infomiert:
We have set ourselves the goal of developing a broadcast service where privacy is a top priority. It starts with protecting the personal information of admins and followers. When you run a channel, your phone number and profile photo aren’t visible to your followers. If you follow a channel, your phone number won’t be visible to anyone either. You decide who you follow, and this info is private.
Similar to messaging, we believe that channel updates don’t have to last forever. As a result, we will only store channel history on our servers for up to 30 days. In addition, there should be other options so that the status messages can be deleted from the followers’ devices even faster. Admins also have the option to block screenshots and redirects from their channel.
You can decide for yourself who can follow your own channel and whether the channel should be listed in the public directory. The new channels will be made available first in Colombia and then in other countries. Feel free to click on the following video.
