In the latest episode of ‘The Unknown’ we see that nothing is really what it seems. During the eliminations, both teams show their true faces, which causes tears and frustrations. And in particular with Ronald Mulder (36) and Mabel (24), who are again in the crosshairs of their teammates to be sent home.
“I really didn’t see this coming!”
The unknown team must go the unknown way to eliminate, because the known team has chosen the normal way of voting. Just before voting begins, there’s another message from the unknown: “If you want to be in the game tomorrow, I want you to speak the truth tonight.” It is a message that sets the tone for the minutes that follow. You can read the tension on their faces.

One by one, the candidates of the unknown team have to name a name, including the reason why they should be voted on. Many fingers point to Mabel, because she has been voted out before. There are no strings attached: “You are quite indecisive, that’s why you have to leave,” says Rein, for example. In the end Mabel gets the most votes and she is forced to leave.
When it is the known team’s turn to vote, everyone takes the sign. On it everyone has to write the name of the person who should leave the game. Since the team is so close, it turns out to be difficult choices. Mischa: “I chose you Ronald, because you have already been voted off before and this may feel like extra time.”

Arno has known the last and decisive vote in team. He also votes for Ronald: “My consideration is a tactical one.” Ronald takes it sportively, but reacts emotionally: “I’m really disappointed guys, but it’s the game.” He thanks everyone and has to leave. At least, that’s what he thinks. An unknown man then arrives with an envelope, with the message: “Your honesty today was shocking, no one has to go home.”
Tears roll down the cheeks of several members of the well-known team. “Of all things I really didn’t see this coming,” Ronald exclaims. Freek agrees: “You are really going through a terrible one rollercoasterfriend.”

The unknown team will also hear this message, but here the mood is less euphoric. Only Mabel is happy: “Happy and nice it is for sure, I am very happy.” But the event is also viewed realistically: Rein knows that this will sharpen the relationship again. He tries to save the atmosphere: “I think we can become stronger as a team.”
It was an emotional evening, on which the candidates increasingly showed their true face. With the final in sight, that is exactly what the unknown has in mind.
