Tourist Killed in Shark Attack on Egyptian Beach: Eye Witness Account

One person tourist had to die while swimming on an Egyptian beach. The incident was so horrific, no one dared to approach.

Reported from The Daily Beasta person Russian Caucasians named Vladimir Popov was swimming on the beach of Hotel Dream Beach, Egypt last Thursday (8/6). Popov had not entered as a tourist and had been living there for several months.

At that time the waters were very calm which made tourists tempted to swim, Popov was one of them. Popov is swimming with his girlfriend, while his father relaxes on the shore.

However, suddenly a hotel staff shouted for all swimmers to get out of the water.

“Shark! Shark! Save yourself! shouted the staff.

A shark’s fin snaked its way across the surface, searching for prey. Popov tried his best to get out of there. Unfortunately, the shark swims reliably and manages to get close to it.

Tourists standing on the beach screaming hysterically. The shark managed to bite Popov, but the foreigner still tried to escape and swim.

Less than a second, the shark attacked Popov again. This time Popov lost, his head sinking to be replaced by the body of a shark that pushed him underwater.

Screams and sorrowful cries rang through the air. Fresh blood was scattered on the surface where Popov was swimming.

“The shark ate his body,” said one witness.

Eyewitnesses said that rescue came when the shark had caught him. It’s too late.

Popov’s girlfriend manages to get away and escape when a warning is given. He was sobbing at the horrific scene before his eyes.

Russian Consul General in Hurghada Viktor Voropayev told the TASS news agency that the deadly strike killed Popov instantly.
