Snelle did not yet have a permit when ticket sales for his concerts at De Adelaarshorst in Deventer started earlier this year. Everything has now been arranged, but the municipality says it has been put in front of the block.
Lars Bos, as Snelle is actually called, will perform on 16 and 17 June in the football stadium of Go Ahead Eagles. The environmental permit and the zoning plan of the stadium “in principle” do not allow concerts.
Go Ahead Eagles had asked about the possibilities for a show in their own stadium, after which ticket sales soon started. Local residents then raised concerns and questions.
“We realize that Snelle is an appealing example for young people from Deventer and the surrounding area, but we felt put on the block,” says alderman Ilse Duursma (Culture and Events).
Duursma understands that local residents had concerns. “In the preparation of this concert, Go Ahead Eagles and the organizer of the concert took them along at a late stage,” she says.
“As a permit provider, we indicated that this had to be done properly before we would assess the application.”
Discussions with local residents were held later. Agreements have been made about the end time and the construction and dismantling. It has also been emphasized that the concerts in the stadium are really an exception.
