President French Emmanuel Macron will visit the children who are victims brutal stabbing in the French Alps region. At least four children and two adults were injured in the stabbing which occurred in the children’s playground area.
As reported AFPFriday (9/6/2023), the stabbing occurred on Thursday (8/6) local time in the city of Annecy in the French Alps.
“Following yesterday’s attack, the President of the Republic and his spouse will today visit the victims and their families, as well as all those in Annecy who have contributed to helping and supporting them,” the French presidency said in a statement.
In an attack that shocked France, a knife-wielding man stabbed four pre-schoolers and two adults in a playground and public park in the usually quiet lakeside town of Annecy.
The four children who were victims were aged between 22 months and 36 months.
The motive for the brutal stabbing is not yet clear. But local prosecutors stated: “There is no clear terrorist motive.”
The stabbing perpetrator was identified as a Syrian refugee named Abdalmasih H. Local authorities said the perpetrator was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol when carrying out the brutal stabbing.
