Belgian Thomas Boivin wins $25k High Roller at Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown 2023

While the EPT Monte-Carlo was in full swing, the World Poker Tour of Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown 2023 in Florida also brought together its share of poker stars and fine final tables. Thomas Boivin proudly represented Belgium by winning the trophy $25,000 High Roller.

Boivin, a regular on the circuit for his live performances since 2012, notched the biggest payout of his career by pocketing 711 300$. His highest score so far was €375,520, won again in a 25k event at EPT Prague in 2018.

The 105 registered entries made it possible to create a prize pool of 2 593 000 $greatly exceeding the initial guarantee of $1,000,000, for 15 players in the paid places.

Boivin was able to get rid of a particularly strong final table, beating Ren Lin in the heads-up final who walks away with $505,200 for his second place, whileThat is, Berg completes the podium with a gain of $319,000. John Racenerrunner-up of the WSOP Main Event in 2010 ranks 8th ($74,500) while another WSOP Main Event finalist, Joseph Cheongtermine 6e ($103,700).

Bin Weng leads remaining six players in WPT Poker Showdown

Last week the World Poker Tour (WPT) $3,500 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown saw the last 16 players of a field of 2,290 entrées come back to play until the final table of six players.

It took about six hours, but the finalists were finally decided. Bin Weng and his stack of 46.05 million are in the best position to try to win the first place prize of $1,128,250. Weng is one of the hottest players on the American Tour this year, with earnings of $1,269,281 so far, not including what he will earn at his last final table.

Weng already has a seven-figure score under his belt after winning the $5,300 The Return : A Borgata Championship Event in January, and a month later he won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Las Vegas $1,700 Main Event for $227,344 and a gold ring.

The other players still in the running are Sridhar Sangannagari, Mitch Garshofsky, David Mzareulov, Naing Thuet Rafael Farah Jarufe.

All remaining players are guaranteed to receive $238,000 in prize money. However, they will have to wait to find out the winner, as the final table will take place at theHyper X ESports Arena at Luxor in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 25.
