Hall. HWK. The EU is aiming for an amendment to the Ecodesign Directive, which will set a high minimum efficiency level for newly installed heating systems from 2029. As a result, other devices will probably no longer be offered. This could lead to the elimination of oil and gas heating.

“Even the plans of Federal Minister of Economics Habeck for the compulsory replacement of heating systems are being criticized. Now the EU has even more far-reaching plans,” says Thomas Keindorf, President of the Halle Chamber of Crafts. “All of these plans are reminiscent of a planned economy that we thought we had happily overcome in 1989. They unsettle the population and cost homeowners, tenants and entrepreneurs a lot of money.”

In particular, the lack of experts for implementation is a fact that is largely negated in all political plans, according to the President of the Chamber.
