A week after Youtube suspended his account for a week after a much-discussed Reuzegom video, Acid has posted another video online. In it, the influencer does not do what its title – ‘I’m sorry Giant Gum, sorry’ – promises. He even insinuates that lawyer Joris Van Cauter wrote a threatening letter himself.
Nathan Vandergunst, better known as Acid, posted a video on Youtube last week in which he revealed the identity of four (former) members of Reuzegom, including two people who were convicted at the trial of Sanda Dia’s death. The two others had nothing to do with the case. He said he wanted to ‘cancel’ the Reuzegom members because, in his opinion, they were not sufficiently punished for the death of Sanda Dia. Because he violated the rules of Youtube, his account was suspended for a week.
That suspension has now ended. I’m sorry Giant Gum, sorry is the title of a new video. But he doesn’t apologise. He talks about a ‘turbulent week’ in which he says he single-handedly initiated the discussion about whether or not he had been sufficiently punished. He lashes out at the media and the judiciary, but also at the lawyers of the Reuzegommers. Joris Van Cauter in particular, who received a threatening letter and, according to Acid, simply wrote it himself – he cannot substantiate that.
He made mistakes in his previous video, Acid admits. He then talks about photos of lawyers and judges that he showed when he talked about the parents of the Reuzegommers. “These are not its parents,” he corrects. “Those people have nothing to do with it.” There are no complaints against him yet, he says. ‘I don’t regret this. Although I am afraid of the legal. I’m scared, but I’m proud.’
