Juergen Klopp relieved to be able to secure the main target quickly, Alexis Mac Allister. The 24-year-old midfielder fits the profile he wants.
Liverpool officially joins Liverpool on Thursday (8/6/2023) today from Brighton & Hove Albion. It was not stated how much the value of the transfer was, but British media revealed a figure of 35 million pounds with a potential bonus of up to 20 million pounds.
Mac Allister is the first player brought in by Liverpool in a project to improve the midfield. As is well known, they left a number of names in that sector, namely James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The player who helped Argentina win the 2022 World Cup fits Liverpool’s needs. Klopp needs hard-working and creative players, and gets the age bonus of Mac Allister, who is only 24 years old.
“We’ve added a very talented, very clever, technical player to the squad and it’s super news, really,” Klopp told the club’s official website.
“I don’t think the world of football needs my explanation of Alexis’ qualities because they already know enough. But it’s clear that he can play in a number of positions in the middle and is an all-round player, in my opinion.”

After undergoing a difficult season in 2022/2023: without a title and failing to finish in the Champions League zone, Liverpool needed to react. Klopp is grateful that club officials have provided serious support by realizing the transfer of Mac Allister.
