The threshold scores set by the ministry have not changed this year.
For admission to the directions “Law” and “Pedagogical sciences” it is necessary to score at least 75 points, “Health care and social security (medicine)” – at least 70 points, “Agriculture and bioresources”, “Veterinary science” – at least 60 points; for admission to national universities – at least 65 points, to other universities – at least 50 points. And in each subject you need to score at least five points.
Since 2019, as part of academic freedom, universities have the right to set their own threshold UNT scores for admission to study both on a paid basis and on a grant.
“Suppose a graduate wants to become a mathematics teacher. He wants to apply for a grant competition or for a paid department of ENU with 80 points scored on the UNT. The threshold score for “Pedagogical Sciences” is at least 75 points, and for national universities – at least 65 points “It seems that the score is enough for admission. However, he learns that the UNT threshold score for this specialty at this university starts at 90. Therefore, he needs to look for another university in which the threshold scores are below 80. Therefore, before applying for education, applicants should know the threshold scores of universities,” said NTC director Ruslan Emelbaev.
The list of universities that will place the state educational order for the 2023-2024 academic year will be published later.
