Bernard Goumou inaugurates the Soumba bridge – Conakryinfos.com

The Prime Minister, Dr Bernard Goumou, accompanied by the Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works, Elhadj Gandho Barry and other members of the Government, inaugurated the Soumba bridge, located in the prefecture of Dubréka.

It was in the presence of the Ambassador of Japan in Guinea, His Excellency Kato Ryuichi and the representative of JICA, Mr. Koichi SASADATE. The cost of the reconstruction works of the Soumba bridge is estimated at 13.3 million dollars. It is the result of official development assistance from Japan through JICA. The work was carried out by the Dai Nippon company.

After the Paul Kagamé interchange in Kagbélen, this other important work highlights the clear desire of the President of the Transition, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya and his Government to materialize the development of roads and works facilitating the movement of people and their goods. . It also symbolizes the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Guinea and Japan. “We say thank you to the Government of Japan in its support for the process of socio-economic development in Guinea, especially in this period of transition” insisted the Prime Minister.

The modern Soumba bridge is 77 meters long and 11 meters wide. It is made with the latest Japanese technologies (drainage system with simple maintenance reinforced with polymer modified bitumen). It is therefore a new technology used for the first time in Guinea. Its commissioning will relieve the users of the national N ° 3 Conakry-Boké, and open up the mining areas of Boké, Sangarédi and Kamsar, Fria but also facilitate transport between Guinea and its neighboring countries. In these words, the Head of Government reaffirms:

“I will never stop repeating it. For the CNRD, the Transition is not only political. It is also social, economic and infrastructural. The work of refoundation launched on September 05, 2021 aims above all to mark the way for the well-being of Guineans. This is why, at a frantic pace, major construction sites are being opened throughout the country. We are convinced that by consolidating our road, urban and interurban network, it will be possible for us in a short time to consolidate our economic growth and guarantee the development of our citizens”.

Before closing his remarks with the most ardent wish of the President of the Transition, and of the Government, that of building a prosperous, inclusive, peaceful and equitable Guinea with the active participation of women and young people.
