AMD Confirms Ryzen 8000 with Zen 5 Architecture and Navi 3.5 Graphics Coming in 2024

Company AMD is not resting on its laurels and is diligently preparing its new Zen 5 architecture. This should appear in the new Ryzen 8000 processors. While AMD desktops have been skipping some number combinations recently (after the Ryzen 3000, only the Ryzen 5000 and then the Ryzen 7000 came to desktops) , this time we have confirmation that they will come desktop Ryzen 8000. This will happen next year (2024) and they are to have a new architecture Zen 5. In addition, they will also receive more powerful integrated graphics chips marked Navi 3.5 (so probably RDNA 3.5).

AMD also said that Socket AM5, which appeared in 2022, will be with us until 2026, another three years. The company further promises new CPU and GPU cores or their upgrades every year. In the case of desktop processors, we can count on a TDP range from 65 W to 170 W, and AMD also promises that we will see the best ratio of performance and consumption in each segment.

Desktop processors with the Zen 5 architecture should be codenamed Granite Ridge. The Zen 5 architecture will come as the standard Zen 5, then as Zen 5 V-Cache and Zen 5C. It is said that they should receive optimizations for AI and machine learning, i.e. probably the XDNA AI chip, which we can already find in the current mobile Ryzen 7040 Phoenix. Unsurprisingly, you can expect better performance and efficiency as well as microarchitecture changes.
