“Flooding occurs both on the right bank in the Kherson region and on the left, which is now occupied by Russian terrorists. Accordingly, access there (on the left bank – ed.) Is not yet possible. Also, according to our forecasts, the water will continue to rise for several more days. Then it will stand, and somewhere closer to the 20th of June, the water will begin to subside,” he said.
Krasnolutsky added that after the decline in water, it will be possible to assess the consequences of flooding in the territories now controlled by Ukraine. In the areas occupied by the Russians, it will be possible to assess the damage only after complete de-occupation.
Kherson region is flooded
It should be noted that after the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station was blown up by the invaders, the Kherson region suffered the most. Water floods the right and occupied left banks of the region.
In the territories controlled by Ukraine, the evacuation of the population and animals is being carried out. In the occupied territories, the so-called “power” does not try to help people.
As of June 8, 600 square kilometers of territories were flooded in the Kherson region, most of them on the left bank. The authorities also reported the first official casualties – in the occupied Oleshki, three people are known to have died.
