The Miss Hispanic International beauty pageant included Cuba among its participants for the first time, inaugurating its preliminary phase this weekend.
On June 4, the preliminary stage of Miss Hispanic Cuba was held in Miami, led by the actor from plantedRicardo Becerra and the singer, Hallel Génesis.
The purpose of the gala was to choose the two young women who will represent Cuba in the contest in its international phase. It is the first time that Cuba is included as a country, although there were already participants of this nationality.
In this first stage, the young women paraded in two outfits, first with a bathing suit, which were sponsored by the Lynn’s Secret brand.
After this, the candidates presented themselves in evening dresses. On both occasions also speaking about their occupations and motivations to participate in the contest.
This was their first meeting with the jury, and from these rounds came those decorated with the band of finalists for the national contest.
Finally, it ended with a charity dinner organized by the director of the event, Marianela Santiesteban, where all the contestants were able to mingle with each other.
This stage of the contest left a total of nine finalists, who will compete in a final gala on July 1, where the Cuban representatives will be defined.
The Miss Hispanic International will be held in Lima, Peru, on September 24. The winners of July 1 will face off there with representatives from the entire continent, some countries in Europe and the Caribbean.
The jury was made up of the Cuban singer-songwriter Diana Fuentes; the journalist and presenter of América TeVe, Maite Luna; the Venezuelan journalist and presenter of Radio Caracol, Midifer Guerra; the Cuban influencer Destino Positivo; the Cuban astrologer Ana María Pedroso; the art collector and CEO of Context, Sergio García; and the CEO of Cubaocho, Yaney Fariñas.
These same personalities will make up the jury for the final that will also be held in Miami on July 1.
Miss Hispanic International is an organization founded in 2011, by the American producer Alexy Mendez, which celebrates all cultures, origins and religions.
The candidates for the contest are of Latin origin, but come from various countries in America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
Mendez has more than 23 years of experience in the field of talent management, entertainment and audience production, and has collaborated with different television programs such as the Latin Grammy, Premio lo Nuestro.
