Venezuela Hosts Second International Festival of Progressive Theater with 343 Theatrical Performances

The appointment includes 50 special events in the formative axis with workshops, international conferences, dramatized readings, exhibitions, critical meetings of the Venezuelan theater and with foreign and national groups, and a virtual visit to the Stanislavski House Museum, from Russia, he explained.

As part of its programming, the festival will have an axis dedicated to the little ones, to be developed in the Casona Aquiles Nazoa, and another for the community, both with free access.

He announced that the II FITP will be held in the context of the activities to commemorate the bicentennial of the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo, which occurred on July 24, 1823, and also coincides with the 240th anniversary of the birth of the Liberator Simón Bolívar.

The International Festival of Progressive Theater emerged last year at the initiative of President Nicolás Maduro and seeks to “call attention” to the men and women of theater in Venezuela and the world, to have a meeting in which they can discuss issues that are important to society.
