Special Vaccination Day for Primary Level Teachers in Formosa’s Capital on June 9th

It will take place on Friday June 9 in five schools, simultaneously, in the morning and in the afternoon.

The Government of Formosa, through the Ministry of Human Development, will carry out this Friday, June 9, a special vaccination day for Primary Level teachers in the Capital.

On this date, “the 2023 annual dose of the flu vaccine and the pending reinforcements of COVID-19 will be applied to all the teachers of the Primary Level, of the Capital, who are currently in activity”, they pointed out from the Department of Immunizations of the provincial health portfolio.

The vaccination headquarters will be at this opportunity: EPEP No. 31 “General Manuel Belgrano”, EPEP No. 365 “Ramón Acosta”, EPEP No. 374 “Alfonsina Storni”, EPEP No. “National Sovereignty” and EPEP No. 445 “Esteban Laureano Maradona”.

In all the aforementioned schools, the vaccines will be applied in a double shift “in the morning, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and, in the afternoon, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.,” the organizers reported.

Regarding the objective of the activity, they explained that “it is to reinforce the protection of this large group of people who, on a daily basis, are in contact with girls and boys.”

In this way, through vaccination, the aim is to protect “directly teachers and, at the same time, indirectly, girls and boys, schoolchildren, who for some reason cannot be vaccinated or who, up to now, have not been vaccinated.” vaccinated”.

“In this case, you will be immunizing, on the one hand, against the influenza virus, which despite the fact that we do not have circulation in the province at this time, the cooler and colder days are arriving where it appears more frequently like other respiratory viruses. and that is why it is essential that the different groups at greatest risk are protected,” they added.

They also indicated that it is important that every four to six months, all people and mainly those who have comorbidities “apply a booster because the antibodies, after that period of time, already begin to decrease in the circulating amount.”

Finally, they expanded that “by receiving the stimulus of a new reinforcement, a new protection is obtained and the levels of antibodies are maintained high so that they give a better response to COVID-19 infections.”
