The i-Cockpit has been in production for more than 10 years and has been in almost 10 million cars sold. Various generations of the i-Cockpit have included the latest technologies available at the time: digital instrument panel, wireless connectivity, voice commands, 3D effects, customizable i-Toggles, etc.

Now the brand is taking this technology to a new level – in all its ten years of existence, “i-Cockpit” has never experienced such a wide transformation. The new generation i-Cockpit of the upcoming Peugeot 3008 is equipped with an impressive panoramic screen above the instrument panel, a new compact steering wheel and i-Toggles controls.

The new generation “i-Cockpit” offers a curved 21-inch high-definition panoramic screen on the top of the dashboard, which stretches from the left side of the dashboard to the center console and combines a projection display and a central touchscreen. The screen is attached with a special element at the back, which is not visible from the cabin, so it looks as if the panoramic screen is placed above the dashboard. The effect is further enhanced by special LED lighting at the bottom.

The screen has an ergonomically optimal position and is slightly curved towards the driver, but at the same time perfectly accessible to the passenger on the right. On the left side of the panoramic screen, above the compact steering wheel, there is an instrument panel that displays all driving information (speed, power, driving aids, energy flow, etc.).

To the right of the panoramic screen, in the center of the dashboard, there is a touchscreen section for both driver and passenger to control heating/air conditioning, navigation, media and connectivity, etc.

In the center of the instrument panel are “i-Toggles” – touch buttons that can be programmed to quickly access 10 of the user’s favorite functions. For example, calling a specific person, navigating to a frequent destination, turning on your favorite radio, setting the perfect air conditioner temperature, etc.

The center console is designed to be light and uncluttered to make room for small items and wireless phone charging. This became possible by moving the control of the automatic transmission to the panel. It is now located to the right of the steering wheel, right next to the “Stop&Start” button. It’s a perfectly ergonomic solution, as you can easily access the gearbox controls and stop or start the engine with one intuitive gesture.

For optimal ergonomics, the control buttons on the compact steering wheel now have a “tactile click”. They recognize human fingers, but only activate when pressed, thus eliminating unnecessary accidents.
