The series organized by the Jövő Új-Városaért Egyesület started in September last year with the children’s run, then a relay race was organized for primary and secondary school students, then the Santa Claus run followed, an equal opportunities sports day was held jointly with the Rudas school, free skating was organized, and most recently a Nordic walking tour was announced in Dunaújváros and Between Rácalmás. And now on Saturday comes the large-scale program called Grund Sports Day, which appeals to everyone from adults to children, but those who are interested are also welcome on June 10.
– Our goal with this tradition-creating event is to promote a healthy lifestyle, sports opportunities, for the participants to exercise and have a good, pleasant day, even as a family. In addition, we want to take steelball further, for which, despite its long history, we were pleased to see that there is still a demand for it, since nearly forty teams have registered – said Zoltán Zemankó, head of the JUVE sports team.

– As for the details, the steelball, i.e. street basketball competition, starts at 9 o’clock on six courts in the inner area behind the main building of the University of Dunaújváros, with a number of around one hundred and fifty people. I think it’s a good thing after so many absences. You only had to pre-register for this one program. From 9:30 a.m., a multi-hour program titled “Women move together” begins with the participation of nine aerobic and fitness trainers. The trainers hold the sessions in twenty-minute blocks, and you can join them at any time during the day. There will be demonstrations in several types of movement, and valuable prizes will be drawn among those who make it through, he added.
He pointed out that the smallest ones were also thought of, the bunny car race starts at 10:00 a.m., and the little ones from every kindergarten in the city are waiting for this organized cup. Teams of five come from the units, and they have to complete a designated course, after the qualifying races, the final of four comes. It will be special that the motorbikes of the Blood Knights will lead the children up, and later you will of course be able to see their vehicles as well. After the competition, players who are not members of the teams can also go on the field.
