President Aoun’s Media Office Denies Falsehoods Regarding Relationship with Sayyed Nasrallah and Visit to Damascus

In light of the news and rumors that are broadcast from time to time about the relationship between the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and the former President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, the media office of President Aoun stressed that “the summit of misinformation was represented in disturbing the relationship between President Aoun and Sayyed Nasrallah and insulting both of them. By rumoring the failure of an attempt to arrange a date between them, which is completely untrue.

In a statement, the media office addressed the rumors that accompanied President Aoun’s visit to Damascus, and indicated that “since the announcement of President Aoun’s visit to Damascus yesterday (6-6-2023) and his meeting with President Bashar al-Assad, interpretations began to give false contents to the visit, at least. In some of them, it is said that they fall within the framework of fantasies and bad intentions, and despite the issuance of two statements by the Lebanese and Syrian sides announcing the content of the talks and their strategic dimension in light of the developments, some newspapers continued to broadcast lies, especially what was reported by “An-Nahar” and “Nidaa Al-Watan” newspapers. On the home page about “luring a Syrian intervention”… and “involving the Syrian regime” in the Lebanese interior.

And the office continued, “The cheap subterfuge was completed through a set of deceptions and allegations, whether about a request for mediation, fortifying the position of the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, requesting an appointment, searching for the names of candidates, and so on,” explaining that “President Aoun, who dedicated his life to defend Lebanon’s sovereignty and paid the most expensive.” The price in order to restore and preserve it reassures the new zealots of the sovereignty that it will never be one of those who exaggerate it and will remain a fighter in order to preserve it.

And he stressed that “President Aoun, in all his foreign meetings, whether during the presidential term, before it, or after it, never raised a special request or related to people, and did not request mediation from anyone or anyone, and what is the tendentious campaign that we saw in some of today’s articles about that one of the goals of The visit is to float the “Free Patriotic Movement” and to immunize Minister Gebran Bassil, except for a deepening of misleading and degradation.
