You can now make reservations on the web
After three years of being tightly closed, tennis lovers will be able to use the San Roque tennis courts again from Monday, March 27. This was confirmed by the mayor of Guadalajara during a visit he made this morning.
The mayor of Guadalajara, Alberto Rojo, has recognized that it was “a piece of news highly anticipated by many athletes in the city”who has explained that “It is true that we have had to wait, and it has been very expensive to undo the administrative mess in which the previous government team left these facilities, compromising the club that managed them. A real administrative problem due to an irregular situation”.
The origin of the problem has been in the need to reach an economic agreement with the company that has managed them for years. An agreement that ended in 2018 and was not renewed although the company continued to use the space.
According to municipal information, the company had a debt with the city council of more than 31,000 euros for the use of the facilities since that agreement ended. The company for its part, through a municipal agreement of the year 2007-08, had set up three paddle tennis courts on the premises that it paid for out of its own pocket and demanded that the city council pay them. These clues have been valued at 29,000 euros.
Now the city council will have to invest 9,000 euros to get them ready, as the mayor has recognized.
