Dushanbe, June 7, WAM/ Our first national judo team has organized its training camp in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, in preparation for participating in the Astana Grand Slam Judo Championship “Kazakhstan 2023”, from June 16 to 18.
The delegation includes two players and 5 players, and the training of the national team is supervised by former international player Viktor Sektrov, and the delegation is headed by Nasser Al-Tamimi, Secretary-General and Treasurer of the International Judo Federation.
His Excellency Mohammed bin Thaloub Al-Derei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Judo Federation, affirmed that he is in constant contact with the mission, and that the male and female players are in high spirits in the preparation camp for the upcoming championship competitions.
He said: “Our participation in the Astana Championship and the tournaments following it, starting with (Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam for Judo in Mongolia in the last week of this June, and the Master of Judo in Budapest, Hungary, in August), is of great importance because it gives its participants qualification points for the Paris Olympic Games 2024, which It is a top priority in the Judo Federation’s strategy.”
He added, “What was achieved in the recent Dushanbe Grand Prix tournament calls for optimism and confirms that we are moving in the right direction, because it is the keenness to be present among the adults in major tournaments and events that gives male and female players sufficient international experience and reflects the extent of their development.”
