“Usually in Bulgaria, the things we plan as temporary are the most permanent. It is very possible that this regime and this parliament will serve their full term. The rotation can become more complicated, new subjects can be included – third or fourth,” former constitutional judge Professor Plamen Kirov told BTV.
According to him, the idea of rotation comes from someone else’s experience, which is quite dangerous.
“When the prime minister resigns and the next one steps in with his resignation, the entire government resigns. The procedure that took place in this parliament will be repeated and again we will have a first term with GERB and a second term with PP-DB. And then the question will arise with which mandate this rotation will be carried out – with that of GERB or PP-DB. Will the entire composition of the Council of Ministers be preserved, or will there be rotating ministers,” Prof. Kirov added.
According to him, Nikolay Denkov’s statement shows a misunderstanding about the way in which the rotation will take place.
Plamen Kirov defined the request for parliamentary immunities from the prosecutor’s office as follows:
“Last desperate attempts in this titanic clash between the Attorney General and the coalition parliamentary majority as well as the executive branch.” The shootings are intensifying, but it seems to me that next week the matter will be resolved with the termination of the mandate of the Attorney General.”
