Mahmoud Al-Assal, the legal advisor to the Zamalek Club, confirmed that the State Cases Authority does not have the competence to intervene in the dismissal of Mortada Mansour, explaining that after the decision to imprison Mortada Mansour, the club’s board of directors did not take any decision against its president.
The Zamalek Club’s legal advisor added, during a telephone interview with the Hazrat Al-Muwatani program broadcast on Al-Hadath Al-Youm channel, that the Zamalek administration did not take a decision because this matter is not a crime against honor, and that Zamalek needs Mortada Mansour as the club’s president.
He pointed out that those who objected to the decision of the Board of Directors addressed the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, to amend the decision, and that the minister refused to intervene.
He pointed out that these people, who rejected the decisions of the Board of Directors, went to the State Council, after they went to the minister and he refused to intervene.
He revealed that the ruling issued by the Court of First Instance in the Administrative Court obligated the Minister of Youth and Sports to issue a decision to remove Mortada Mansour’s membership in the presidency of the Zamalek club and to officially exclude him from the board of directors.
He explained that Zamalek must be preserved, not to interfere in things that are within the jurisdiction of the Board of Directors and the General Assembly.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Sports is appealing against the ruling of dismissing Mortada Mansour from the presidency of Zamalek, and that the ministry really has no hand in anything against Zamalek.
