Celebrating County Craftsmanship: 208 Bachelors Acquitted in Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Freiburg

COUNTY CRAFTSMANSHIP

Acquittal Celebration

At the celebratory conclusion of their technical training, 208 bachelors from the entire district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and the urban district of Freiburg were invited to the community center in Müllheim to receive their journeyman’s certificate and to celebrate their success appropriately. 108 motor vehicle mechatronics technicians, 49 plant mechanics for sanitary, heating and air conditioning technology, 13 precision mechanics, 10 metal workers, 19 two-wheeler mechanics and 9 other young craftsmen from different professions were able to celebrate their successful completion. Trainees with a migration background have long been part of everyday life in many South Baden craft businesses. This was also evident at the celebration, where around 25 percent of the acquitted bachelors had their roots outside of Germany. In his welcome speech, Muellheim’s Mayor Martin Löffler underlined the great importance of the many craftsmen for the city’s infrastructure. District master craftsman Michael Rauber and Chamber of Commerce President Johannes Ullrich addressed the huge need for young craftsmen in almost all professions in their speeches, which harbors unprecedented potential for current and future skilled trades.
