The sad balance will be tallied by the traffic police after Black Tuesday. Rescuers were no longer able to help motorists in several places in the Czech Republic. The causes of the accidents are under investigation.
After a collision with a BMW truck near Velvar in Kladno, on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m., it crashed head-on into a guardrail and the driver died as a result. The I/16 road was closed until approximately 7 p.m.
The tragic accident might not have happened at all if the BMW driver had followed his valid driving ban. A rescue helicopter also went to the scene, but eventually returned empty.

“According to the initial on-site investigation, the traffic accident probably occurred when the driver of a car drove in the opposite direction for reasons yet to be determined and collided head-on with the oncoming truck tractor,” police spokeswoman Michaela Richterová says about the accident.
One motorcyclist died near Královský Poříčí in Sokolovská, his other two colleagues were seriously injured after a collision with a car. The driver of the passenger vehicle only sprained his ankle. Road 181 between Královský Poříč and Nový Sedel was closed because of this.
Firefighters had to intervene in several traffic accidents with injuries on Tuesday afternoon also in Královéhradecky, one of which ended tragically. Two cars collided on road No. 35 near Všestar. “There was a head-on collision, one person died and one person from the other car suffered moderate injuries,” said police spokeswoman Iva Kormošová.
