King Harald on Tour in Nordland after Recovering from Illness in Norway

– Absolutely brilliant!, answered the king when he was asked on Tuesday what it is like to go on a long work trip relatively soon after he was ill.

It has been three weeks since the king was discharged from Rikshospitalet after being hospitalized for a week with an infection. Now he and the queen are in full swing with a county tour in Nordland, where a total of six municipalities will be visited in four days.

– He is probably healthy then, said the queen, when the two met the press in Vevelstad on Tuesday evening.

– Has gone incredibly well

The Queen had the following to say about how she has experienced her husband’s period of illness:

– It is not exactly the most pleasant period in one’s life. But it has gone incredibly well, and I also know that the king has the best doctors and very good dialogue too.

– What I can say is that it was very boring, said the king and laughed heartily.

The royal couple has so far visited Hemnes, Hattfjelldal, Leirfjord and Vevelstad municipality on the trip. Sømna municipality awaits on Wednesday and on Thursday the trip goes to Bindal.

Proud of Nordland

The king brags greatly about the local people they have met on the way:

– There has been a bit of variable weather, and a bit of a lack of heat, perhaps, from our lord. But from the audience’s side, the heat has been very great. We greatly appreciate the reception we have received in Nordland, says the king.

On Monday, the sun shone with its presence along the sea in Vevelstad.

The queen can hardly brag enough about the experiences:

– I don’t think I have enough words. It is an incredible area, both the nature and the people in particular. They are so open and hospitable. And all this creativity. It is so inspiring to experience, and joyful to see. You are just happy to be here.
