Ange Postecoglou tasked with rebuilding Tottenham as 12 players face exit, including Lloris to Saudi Arabia

Ange Postecoglou, 57, has a big job ahead of him.

To make Tottenham a top team again.

This year’s season ended with an eighth place in the league and thus the club missed Europe.

The new coach is expected to clear the ranks properly before he kicks off the Premier League season in August.

As many as seven players from this year’s first-team squad – and a total of twelve players – may disappear, writes the Telegraph.

Lloris next star for Saudi Arabia?

First-choice goalkeeper and team captain Hugo Lloris, whose contract expires next summer, has said he is open to a new challenge. A lucrative contract offer from Al-Hilal should be on the table.

Even Ivan Perisic could disappear. The experienced Croatian was handpicked to Spurs by former coach Antonio Conte.

Tottenham are also said to be willing to let go of defenders Ben Davies, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and winger Ryan Sessegnon.

A trio that is even closer to a new club is Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon. The players have been on loan this past season and are now available for sale. There is no future in Tottenham.

Tanguy Ndombele has also been out on loan and risks disappearing. But Ange Postecoglou must first take a closer look at the midfielder, who has a contract until 2025.

Last but not least, Tottenham will most likely not keep the loan duo Arnaut Danjuma and Clement Lenglet.

Kulusevski is expected to remain at Tottenham

Another player who has been on loan is Dejan Kulusevski.

The 18-month loan agreement has expired – but there, all the reports in the last week have spoken of Tottenham buying the Swede from Juventus.

But a new coach naturally means new conditions.

That was pointed out by former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton in an interview with Football Insider before Postecoglou had been introduced.

– I understand why they want to make it a permanent transfer. But which coach will they have? Will they sign him? How much will it cost? I don’t see a future for him at Juventus so it would be smart to buy him off – if the price is right, says Hutton.

Dejan Kulusevski has scored seven league goals since arriving in January 2022.
