Huge rain showers on Gran Canaria

According to Canariajournalen.no an orange warning has been issued for up to a full storm in the castes on Tuesday in the north of Tenerife as well as in the west and in higher areas of La Palma.

On La Gomera and El Hierro there is a yellow warning for wind.

– A yellow warning for possible torrential rain with 15-60 millimeters per hour applies on Tuesday in the east, south and west of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, east and in higher areas on La Palma, as well as on La Gomera and El Hierro, writes the Canaria journal.

Much cloudy

On Wednesday, there is a yellow warning for precipitation in the same places, and for wind in the north of Tenerife.

– We draw attention to the fact that there are often large, local variations in the weather over short distances. This means that it can blow or rain heavily in one place, and be virtually windless and rain-free a few kilometers away, writes the Norwegian newspaper.

In May and so far in June, there has been an unusually high amount of cloudy weather, but little precipitation, and lower temperatures than normal over large parts of the Canary Islands.
