Ittihad Jeddah, the Saudi Roshan League champion, signed a professional contract with Frenchman Karim Benzema, the Spanish Real Madrid striker, according to which the latter will join the team during the summer transfer period, which will start early next month.
Benzema announced his departure from Real Madrid on the morning of the last match in the Spanish League against Athletic Bilbao last Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu, in which he scored his team’s only goal.
Karim spent 14 years in the ranks of Real Madrid, during which he achieved 25 championships, which made him the most title-winning player in the history of the ancient Spanish club, equally with Brazilian Marcelo.
Karim Benzema scored 354 goals in the “white” shirt, as his second historical scorer, behind Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, who moved at the end of last year to the Saudi victory.
Ittihad Jeddah will be the third club in the career of Benzema (35 years old), as he began his professional career in Lyon, France, before moving in 2009 to Real Madrid, Spain.
