News culture These cult comic book heroes are making a strong comeback in cinemas, this animated New York is more beautiful than ever!
Ninja Turtles – Teenage years arrives this summer at the cinema and dazzles us in a new trailer.
Ninja Turtles – Teenage years, soon in theaters, will trace the journey of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo, just teenagers, who train to be the greatest fighters in New York City. The whole thing is directed by Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells against the machines), in collaboration with Seth Rogen (This Is The End, The Killing Interview!) and Evan Goldberg, who are accompanied by stars for dubbing: John Cena, Rose Byrne, Ice Cube, Jackie Chan, Giancarlo Esposito, Shamon Brown Jr. and Post Malone.
And beyond the five-star cast, it’s the style that catches the eye: a unique visual that skilfully mixes 3D with a penciled line that obviously recalls Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the film released at the end of 2018 by Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti and Rodney Rothman. The theatrical release is scheduled for August 9.
After years away from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic deeds. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate but they find themselves overwhelmed by events when an army of mutants unfolds against them.
Produced by Seth Rogen
Remember, the famous turtles that live in the sewers of New York are the creations of cartoonists Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, who first presented the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” to the world in 1984. Faced with the dazzling success, the license has seen a series of comics, several animated series as well as a handful of films released between 1990 and 2016. The latest feature film to date is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, produced by Michael Bay. Development of Ninja Turtles – Teenage years began in 2020 through Seth Rogen’s production company, in conjunction with Paramount and Nickelodeon Movies. The screenplay is by Brendan O’Brien (Our Worst Neighbours).
