Today, Monday, press reports said that Milan legend Paolo Maldini will leave the Rossoneri after a sharp dispute with the club’s owner.
According to the “Calciomercato” website, Maldini, technical director, and Ricky Massara, sports director, attended a stormy meeting with owner Jerry Cardinale, to discuss the club’s strategy in preparation for the next season.
He pointed out that things went very badly, especially between Maldini and Cardinale, so that the club legend was close to leaving.
He added that some reports said that Maldini and Massara had decided to submit their resignations, but other reports indicated that Cardinale was the one who dismissed the duo.
It is noteworthy that Maldini spent his career as a soccer player in Milan, where he wore the team’s shirt for 25 seasons, before retiring at the age of 41 in 2009, and joining the club’s management in 2018.
