The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation proposed to amend the provision on the draft of citizens for mobilization, in particular, it is proposed to notify those mobilized through SMS mailings.
The explanatory note to the document says that the changes allegedly will help reduce the time for notifying citizens about mobilization and “improve the quality” of its implementation.
“Paragraph 8 should be amended as follows: a notice of a subpoena sent by a military commissariat is placed in the citizen’s personal account in the federal state information system “Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services (Functions)”, the taxpayer’s personal account, and is also sent by SMS to the subscriber number of the mobile radiotelephone communication, indicated on the portal of state and municipal services,” the draft document says.
