Old town of Zofingen.
The FGPK recommends that the residents’ council accept a loan for a pedestrian crossing over Mühlethalstrasse, the expansion of the bus stop and other structural measures.
The Zofingen Finance and Auditing Commission (FGPK) unanimously recommends that the residents’ council approve the annual report and annual accounts for 2022 of the Zofingen municipality at the meeting on June 19, as the city of Zofingen writes in a statement. As the intensive audit work in recent weeks has shown – the audit report comprises 120 pages – there are no objections from either a financial or a financial policy point of view. Fortunately, the result of the annual accounts is excellent. With a profit of CHF 10.5 million and self-financing of CHF 14.3 million, the 2022 financial statements were far better than budgeted – and better than ever since 1988. Nevertheless, FGPK President André Kirchhofer states in the foreword to the audit report that that Zofingen is facing a longer period of high investments. Therefore, a very high level of self-financing is still required and the net expenditure must be kept within limits.
According to the press release, the investments in the waste water infrastructure planned for 2023, amounting to around CHF 350,000, also met with clear approval. This is intended to rehabilitate various sewerage lines in Mühlethal; In addition, the city plans to stop the water from two other wells from flowing into the sewage system, but to let it seep away. The FGPK also recommends that the residents’ council accept a loan totaling CHF 500,000 for a pedestrian crossing over Mühlethalstrasse, the expansion of the bus stop and other structural measures.
