Queen Letizia’s Literary Shopping Spree at Madrid Book Fair

The Queen Letizia is a great fan of reading and has not wanted to miss the opportunity to visit the Madrid Book Fairwhich is held until June 11 at the Retirement park.   • Lovecraft, by Antonio Jimenez Morato: one of the best-known essays on Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937), the master of cosmic terror, with the translation and prologue by Antonio Jiménez Morato. In this book, Lovecraft exposes his vision of the fantastic and horror genre, as well as his influences and his own creations.
  • The Walk, by Robert Walser: mixture of genres in which its author goes for a walk and narrates what he is seeing and feeling. Considered a masterpiece of the 20th century, this short novel is a sample of Walser’s unique and poetic style, which influenced authors such as Kafka or Musil.
  • El uso de la foto, by Annie Ernaux: works around 14 photographs that he took with his lover, Marc Marie. Through them, Ernaux reconstructs a clandestine and passionate relationship that lasted five years, and reflects on love, desire, memory and the passage of time.

For your visit to the Book Fair, Queen Letizia opted for a comfortable and casual look, made up of gray jeans, a sailor top, ballerinas and a college-style crossbody bag. The Queen exuded sympathy and closeness with the booksellers and readers who were at the fairgrounds, and even took some photos with them.
