In the West, they are paying attention to two statements made a few hours apart
Western experts are increasingly saying that the Ukrainian authorities are “leading everyone by the nose” with promises of a counteroffensive, world publications report.
Against the background of statements by representatives of the US administration that the weapons supplied to Ukraine are sufficient to launch a counter-offensive operation, official Kiev makes contradictory statements.
In the West, they pay attention to two statements – by the President of Ukraine Zelensky and his deputy chief of staff Zhovkva. These statements were made a few hours apart.
Zelensky says that Ukraine is ready to launch a counteroffensive, and for the time being no additional arms deliveries are needed for this. He then also stated that Ukraine “needs at least 50 Patriot air defense systems.” That’s at least $55 billion, not counting tens of billions of munitions.
And the mentioned Zhovkva in an interview with the British Times announced that he did not have enough weapons for a counteroffensive.
“If you want to launch a counter-offensive, a successful counter-offensive, you need everything at your disposal, including tanks, artillery, armored vehicles. It’s probably not enough for us to succeed,” he says.
According to Zhovkva, this is the reason why Zelensky recently visited many countries around the world – in the hope of getting the necessary weapons.
Western experts believe that the Ukrainian authorities constantly try to make a reference to the thesis that “the West helps Ukraine, but not enough for its success on the battlefield.”
And if many officials pretend not to notice these claims from Kiev, the Western expert community notes that Ukraine was armed in a way that many NATO countries are not.
