The Controversy Surrounding Kristýna’s Therapist and the Idea of Hospitalization

Luděk wants to have Kristýna hospitalized

Blanka spends the night in bed with her daughter to keep an eye on her for more demanding attacks. This time she didn’t even want to take Kristýna to the hospital for fear that they would force her to take medication. When Luděk learns about this, out of sheer desperation he proposes the only remaining solution – to have Kristýna hospitalized during another attack. Blanka is fundamentally against it. She knows very well that her daughter would not allow such a thing. She is an adult, and if they tried to force her, they would lose her trust completely.

Julie takes money from people, but so do Blanka and Luděk

Later, Blanka finds out the terrifying story of Julia’s former client Renata and it is narrated by Veronica. Renata turned to Julia for postpartum depression. She put all the family savings into therapy, but even after a year she was no better. Her condition worsened dramatically and her depression led her to thoughts of suicide. Only then did it scare her so much that she decided to go to the hospital. Even today, she cannot talk about it without fear that her problems will return. She became a broken woman with a family without money.

When Kristýn hears this story, maybe he will finally understand what Julie really is. That he only profits from the misfortunes of others, but does not help them at all. Kristýna, however, stubbornly defends her beloved therapist as always. Of course he asks for money for his services. Should she work for free? Blanka and Luděk have a lot to talk about, they are both dentists who charge patients thousands for a few new fillings. The girl’s reaction hurts both parents, especially Blanka, who starts to feel guilty. Yes, there may be successful dentists who get rich off of their patients’ health problems, but they don’t set those prices themselves. Moreover, they have a controlling authority over them, while Julie is accountable to no one.

The therapist makes an elegant excuse for everything

Kristýna pauses over the question of where Mom actually got in touch with Renata. She realizes that easily behind it is the grandmother who broke the rule of secrecy. The girl therefore invites her to the carpet, where she informs her that she is sincerely disappointed by her actions. Marie does not want to dissuade her granddaughter from believing in Julia, but at the same time she advises her to follow the proven rule – trust, but verify.

Kristýn wonders what she learned from her grandmother and parents, so Julie asks about Renata’s story. Of course, the therapist will not admit any guilt of her own. In short, he explains the whole thing by saying that Renata was not ready to undergo effective treatment. She was not as strong as Kristýna to be able to deal with problems. In addition, he tells the girl that Blanka and Luďek used this story as an intermediary to dissuade her from further therapy. Is there still a chance that Kristýna would break free from the terrifying influence of the coach?
